If you fall 1 lesson short of your chosen scheme, a “Lesson Voucher” will be issued.
The voucher will be valid until the end of the following month, and can be used for the following:
A make up lesson for your regular instrument/class
A lesson in any other instrument/class of your choice
For recording services
Other events and services within LiVEJAM
Products/services offered by outside vendors
*Please manage the lesson vouchers with care, as LiVEJAM will not be responsible for lost vouchers nor will it provide warning for expiration dates.
When you know you will be away for more than 2 weeks, please inform us in writing (email is OK), by the 25th day of the month prior to your absence. The charge for the month will be adjusted accordingly.
In case lessons could not be taken as planned due to causes by the instructors, we will issue lesson tickets with a one year expiration.
“Causes by the instructors” will include:
Cancelation on the day of the scheduled lesson
Cancelation up to the day prior to the lesson, which could not be rescheduled within a week of the original date.
When the “designated” instructor is away for more than 2 weeks, we ask that you set up lessons with other instructors unless there is a pressing reason.
All other unexpected situations will be dealt with on a case by case basis by the director.
Importance of Consistency in music learning
It has been our observation in the past year, that there is a widening gap in musical growth between those students who come in regularly for lessons and those who are sporadic visitors. This gap could be critical particularly in band/ensemble situations where similar levels of attitude and advancement are essential for the group to grow as a team. Instructors mention that students with regular schedules can learn new techniques far quickly, whereas sporadic students end up re-learning their lessons from the last time, unable to make progress with new techniques.
